About The Artist :: TEACHING

I studied most of my drawing and painting techniques by studying the masters at the Tate and National portrait Galleries in London England and Paris France. Growing up in London had many advantages, one of which was always being able to see the great painters whenever I needed. I would spend much of my youth in art galleries, sketching and studying the giants in art history. Even though my description is self taught' I feel that my instructors were the great art masters of our past. I teach Life drawing (classical rendering techniques), Perspective rendering, Colour theory, image & Camera Composition & Portrait studies during the day at VFS and also at in public night courses also at VFS.

My day students are studying classical animation. My job is to give them the understanding of classical art rendering to assist them in the design skills for their film work. I also teach occasional private oil painting lessons. I teach roughly 42 hours per week, most of which is achieved in 3 to 4 days, due to the night classes. Then I work in my studio for another 40-50 hours in the same week. It's a bit of a push; even I seem to get tired now and then.
